Complimenting our previous works, we embarked on the supplementary construction upgrade to the Eastern Stairs and paths within the Como Pleasure Grounds.
Our fabricated and installed aluminium and stainless-steel balustrades and handrails along the seawall edge and jetty landing, stairs and ramps, accompanied the construction of new concrete paths, ramps, landings and stairs. Complete with stainless steel tactiles at the base and top of the stairs, abundant of uses and ultimate manoeuvrability has been offered to the public.
Additionally, the supply and installation of stone walls (again whist ensuring the heritage listed sandstone seawall remained intact), together with installation of street furniture, ensured continuity with prevailing works and drawing in the natural elements featured abundantly throughout.
Initial works included demolition of existing paths, fencing and tree stumps, earthworks and regrading, drainage works including subsoil drains, pits and connections, with planting, topsoil and mulch to finish.
The Como Pool Path site is set along the waterfront bounded by the Como Swimming Pool, tidal baths, café and sandstone seawall, with panoramic views of the Georges River and surrounding bushlands – arguably one of the Sutherland Shire’s most spectacular outlooks!
