Farmhouse Playground Fun!

Robert Pymble Park
Ku-ring-gai Council

Inspired by Robert Pymbles’ fruit farm, an influential 1800’s early settler who introduced orange growing to the region, the newly constructed District Playground at Robert Pymble Park is complete and now open!

Providing active, imaginative and passive play activities with improved accessibility for users of all age groups and abilities, Ku-ring-gai Council’s goal for this revitalised and engaging community space has been successfully accomplished!

The installation of a larger playground with new play elements is designed to encourage the development of physical skills through sensory and nature play activities. Features include a farming barn tower with multiple slides, swing set, fruit truck, giant tractor, giant watermelon and tomato, as well as an inclusive double seat carousel, several springers and flower talk tubes. Orange and lemon trees have been planted in the park in a further nod to Robert Pymble’s influence on the area.

The circuit bike track constructed for younger children provides a place for learning to ride bicycles and scooters, with the natural play elements such as timber log steppers, rock features for climbing and sandstone stepping stones, opening the doors to a world of imaginative play!

In addition, new timber bench seating and sandstone seating and walls have been installed, together with accessible car spaces, paving, fencing, concrete footpaths and complimentary softscapes.

Robert Pymble Park has become a welcoming place for families to meet, relax and play for health and well-being, supporting the local North Shore community.
