Stuart Park All Ages All Abilities Playground
Wollongong City Council

Squeals of delight and excited faces of kids running to try out the new play equipment marked the recent opening of Stuart Park All Ages All Abilities Playground along Wollongong’s foreshore. It was our privilege to witness the excitement unfold with the ABC News, Council, politicians, the Mayor and the public turning out in droves!

The key focus for this premier park and community space flanking the iconic North Wollongong beach is to provide a play space suitable for everyone, inclusive of children and people with disability, to complement current facilities.

Demolition, earthworks, drainage and construction of footpath networks together with road works for a bus bay and disabled parking were undertaken. New play equipment (carousel, swings, nature play area, rocky gorge maze, amongst other items) was installed together with complementary softfall, dry creek with stonework, raised garden beds, turfing and seating.
The double mouse wheel, swings and timber balance beams were very popular on opening day while traversing through the rocky gorge proved to be a fun challenge! Other notable spaces include the sensory gardens and the variety of artwork, timber totems and sculptures.

These upgraded facilties together with the bike path and shelters suitable for picnics make Stuart Park a fun, accessible destination for families and friends to spend the day together in the fresh air!

We are proud to have collaborated with City of Wollongong Council on this major project in the Illawarra and delivered this Park to the community ahead of schedule.
