Ready to Shred and Play!

RECREATION PRECINCT - ST IVES VILLAGE GREEN
Ku-ring-gai Council

Immediately flanking the Skate Park, is our newly constructed playground and BBQ picnic facilities, together with upgrade exterior works to the Community Hall. Key features of the Playground include construction of a large, inclusive children’s playground with a vast array of equipment suitable for all ages and abilities, incorporating play tower with slide, inclusive spinner, junior fort, climbing bars, swings, rocker and table tennis. The interconnecting pathways makes access and egress a breeze throughout the entire Precinct, with expansive sandstone log feature retaining walls providing play and additional seating.

Further works incorporated paving, street furniture, shelters and awnings, lighting, BBQ and picnic facilities, shade sails, stairs, custom fencing, accessible pathways, tree planting with softscapes to suit.

Our construction works further involved demolition of the existing playground, earthworks, excavation, drainage, electrical and lighting.  Works completed around the St Ives Community Hall included a new hall entrance awning, new pathways, drainage, stairs connecting the hall to the skatepark and shopping centre, as well as new sandstone log retaining walls and turf.

We are proud to announce that this project won Growth Civil Landscapes a Silver Award from The Landscape Association NSW/ACT for Commercial and Civil Construction $3M + at the 2023 Landscape Excellence Awards. We are also proud to announce that St Ives Village Green Recreation Precinct has won a Highly Commended Award for Diversity and Inclusion at the 2024 NSW & ACT Institute of Public Works Engineering Australasia (IPWEA) Awards. The award was in recognition of Ku-ring-gai Council’s multi-disciplinary team approach which successfully addressed accessibility, inclusion, equity, diversity and behaviour.
